For as little as about £1 each. Absolutely no goods yard or wagon train is complete without some! The prototypes came in a variety of sizes and where used to carry dry and liquid commodities in vast quantities across the railway system.

These barrels are based on the Slaters product. The major improvement being the hand-applied hoop detail. This small addition makes a massive improvement to the appearance. Different ages and conditions of the barrels are achieved through careful painting and weathering; I’m therefore able to create the look of new or old barrels, even varying the colour of the hoops, thus lifting them from the mundane to a very convincing essential addition.

As a guide, 15 barrels would cover the floor of a typical open wagon.
